Overview

About the project

Spokes required a website that could communicate their data science capabilities to potential enterprise clients — many of whom were not technically minded. The challenge was simplifying complex concepts without underselling the depth of their analytical offering or the sophistication of their technology.

Challenge & Approach

Making data science accessible.

The Challenge

Making data science accessible

Translating complex data science capabilities into clear, credible web copy and visual design that resonates with non-technical decision-makers — while still impressing technical evaluators who might review the site with greater scrutiny.

The Approach

Clarity through visual storytelling

A clean, minimal design language inspired by data visualisation aesthetics — purposeful use of charts, diagrams, and callout statistics to add credibility without technical overload. The information architecture was designed around client outcomes rather than internal processes.

Key Findings

What worked, what I’d change.

What Worked Well

The simplified messaging hierarchy made complex services feel approachable and generated strong positive feedback from prospective clients. The visual language effectively communicated analytical credibility without requiring deep technical knowledge from the viewer.

What I’d Do Differently

More extensive stakeholder interviews upfront — particularly with target enterprise decision-makers — would have further refined the messaging hierarchy and ensured the copy was calibrated precisely to the knowledge level of the primary buyer persona.
