Project Scope

I was asked to take over the development of this WordPress site by a client based in Toronto. They needed a full re-design of 5 pages which would include a pop-up ad and contact form. I had to add custom icons, banners, fonts and renter images.

Design Challenges

Direct Contributions

I re-designed the entire site and was given text, logo and colour scheme to work with.I used the plug-in Elementor for most of the layout and added custom HTML, CSS and Javascript for elements that I was unable to edit using elementor. The client wanted a particular look and feel so I made multiple drafts until we settled on the final version. I built the custom graphics in Illustrator and rendered images in Photoshop.

Problem

Slow page loading speed. The home page and some of the other pages had slow load times during the development.

Solution

I had to reduce the size of all images in Photoshop and flip the angle of the main banner image in order for the people to fit on the page. I reduced images and icon size to under 200px from around 6-700 which made a positive impact on the page loading speeds. Project Scope 5 page website re-design for a property letting company.

Design Rationale

The site required the location and utilities to be shown off, the key feature was to make it easy for customers to find the location and contact the company to book a tour.

I made sure there were several call to action sections positioned around the website and that all property details were easy to understand through the use of clear icons.
