Project Scope

I worked directly on the logo, print marketing and website design.

I worked along side the marketing and development departments to help re-develop the company branding and website.

The project was for an app that would enable international students to gain information on BritishUniversities in the UK before making the move to the UK.

Design Challenges

Problem

How to appeal to a predominantly young Chinese audience and find design that would translate to the British marketplace while still appealing to people using the site abroad.

Solution

I conducted user studies using connections I had through my partner who was an asian international student. I put together some alternative design and layout examples and asked users to rate from 0 – 10. From the study I concuded the website should be more icon focused and have a simplified navigation structure.

Design Rationale

A company targeting young adults in higher education, the style and colours of the existing website needed brightening up to appeal to a younger audience. The navigation flow of the site needed a complete overhaul and this was broken down initially before re-arranging the content. Results Branded start-up with web and social media presence capable to convert and integrate it’s target market.

Reflection

Carrying out user research on the target market was pivotal in the success of this project as well as aligning with the correct strategic partners to market the product to eastern students,
